Miss Clara: War has been part of humanity in every age…There always seems to be something to fight for.
Miss Clara: Very few of us know how to fight the right way or understand who we are really fighting against.
Miss Clara: We need to have the right [plan] and resources because victories don’t come by accident.
Home owner: The house…it’s a disaster, but we’ve both agree to blame it on the kids.
Miss Clara to lawn mower: Here’s $5 extra because I like your [clean-cut] haircut.
Miss Clara: We wanted 5 or 6 children, but the Lord only gave e one because He knew Clive was all I could handle.
Miss Clara, about her sitting room: This is my third favorite room.
Elizabeth: What do you do in this room? Miss Clara: Mainly sit.
Miss Clara: Can’t do but anything with my phone but call folks. Must be a dumb phone.
Mandy: After 31 years of stalemates, it just isn’t worth it anymore.
Mandy: Submission is learning to duck so God can hit your husband.
Miss Clara: You say you only attend church occasionally. Is that because your preacher only preaches occasionally?
Miss Clara: People drink their coffee hot or cold. Nobody likes it lukewarm. Not even the Lord.
Elizabeth: Why do you feel the need to examine my personal life?
Miss Clara: Because you don’t need to step on the same landmines I did.
Elizabeth: If there’s one thing we do well, it’s fight.
Miss Clara: No, I don’t think you do. Just because you argue a lot doesn’t mean you fight well. I bet you never feel like you’ve won.
Elizabeth: So you wrote prayers for each area of your life?
Miss Clara: A prayer strategy, yeah.
Elizabeth: I don’t have time to pray that much every day.
Miss Clara: But you apparently have time to fight losing battles with your husband?
Miss Clara: I see in you a warrior that needs to be awakened.
Elizabeth: You know that we love you, right?
Danielle: I think you love me a little bit… What’s my team name? What are our colors? What new trick did I learn? What award did I learn last week?
Miss Clara: How much of the one hour we have today are we going to spend whining about your husband or learning what God can do about it?
Miss Clara: It’s your job to love him, to respect him, to pray for the man, [not to fix him].
Miss Clara: Pray and ask God to do what only He can do and then get out of the way so He can do it.
Tony: I’m just tired of her junk.
Michael: Her junk? Dude, this isn’t a buffet.
Tony: See you in church.
Michael: I’d like to see the church in you, bro.
Miss Clara: In light of all these wrongs, does God still love Tony?
Elizabeth: Yes.
Miss Clara: Do you?
Miss Clara: If you want victory, you’re going to have to first surrender.
Miss Clara: God is a good defense attorney. Let him handle it and then turn your attention to the real enemy… Kick the real enemy out of your home. It’s time for you to fight, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth to God: I’m not his judge; You are.
Elizabeth: This house is under new management.
Elizabeth: I’m asking God to fight for me, because I am sick of losing.
Michael: You can fight against your wife and probably hold your own, but if God is fighting for her…
Elizabeth: Tony, I love you, but I am His before I’m yours, and because of Him, I am staying right here.
Miss Clara: I told you, Elizabeth! I told you that God would fight for you!
Miss Clara: Oh devil, you just got your butt kicked! My God is FAITHFUL! You can’t fire Him and He’ll never retire! My God is faithful!!!
Tony’s boss: Why? Why would you do that? The only answer I’ve come up with is that you must be sincere.
Danielle: Why did you do that, Daddy?
Tony: Because that’s how I’d want to be treated.
Elizabeth: You know, I would rather have a man chasing Jesus than a house full of stuff.
Miss Clara: You’ve done it again, Lord! You are good, and you are mighty, and you are merciful… You are Lord. … Raise up a generation that will take light into this world…
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
